RISC Zero is a zero-knowledge virtual machine that runs on any platform. Every time the virtual machine executes a program or code, it generates a receipt with information about the performed operation. This receipt contains proofs that the program was executed based on specific rules and protocols associated with zero-knowledge technology. It provides confirmation that a certain code was executed according to the rules established in the system. These receipts can be independently verified to establish the correctness of program execution.
Such verifiability allows for the decentralization of applications that previously required trust in a central authority.
RISC Zero has raised a total of $54 million in three financing rounds: $2 million in March 2022, $12 million in August 2022, and $40 million in July 2023, led by Fenbushi Capital, Blockchain Capital, Galaxy Digital, and others.
